Structural/Civil Engineer sought by Concrete Engineering Solutions located in Mountain Top, PA. Perform structural analyses and design of precast culverts and earth retaining structures.  Perform structural civil engineering work requiring standard techniques and procedures. The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

                                                                                                                             

Position Duties:   Perform structural analyses and design of precast culverts and earth retaining structures.  Perform structural civil engineering work requiring standard techniques and procedures.. The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.  Remote work.  Some travel required. 

 

Minimum Requirements for the Position: Master of Science Degree in Structural Engineering (Civil) with 12 months of relevant work experience in the job offered.

 

Special Requirements:

• Performing structural design calculations, analyses, and design reports for variety of concrete, timber and steel structures;

• Calculating pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a concrete beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes;

• Considering the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete and steel, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design;

• Liaising with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction;

• Making drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for civil engineering contractors;

• Using computers and computer design software as an aid to designing structures and working knowledge of ACI-318, ASCE 7-10, AISC, AASHTO and NDS.
